Terms of service

Last updated 2026-10-10.

AXRAY is operated from https://axray.online. The legal entity behind it is not yet published here; ask at hello@axray.online and you will get it in writing before you are asked to pay for anything.

What does the service actually do?

AXRAY fetches public web pages you nominate and returns an assessment of them. Scores are opinions produced by a published rubric, not statements of fact about your business.

What may you use it for?

  • Scan sites you own, or public sites, at a reasonable rate. Do not use AXRAY to load-test anyone. One host is fetched at most 30 times an hour across all users, and we will not raise that for you.
  • Do not use the service to circumvent access controls or bot protection.
  • API keys are yours to keep secret; usage on your key is your responsibility.
  • Do not attempt to point the scanner at private, internal or link-local addresses. Those requests are refused and recorded with the address they came from.

Does scanning a site publish anything about it?

A scan is private to whoever ran it and is reachable only through its own unguessable link. Scanning a site publishes nothing about it. A host appears in the public AX Index only when somebody has claimed the domain, proved they control it through a DNS record or a file we can fetch, and asked for it to be listed.

A score is our opinion, produced by a published rubric, about one page at one moment. It is not a statement of fact about a business. If you control a listed domain you can remove the listing yourself, immediately, without giving a reason; if you cannot reach the account that listed it, email hello@axray.online. We also honour Disallow: / against the AXRAY user-agent in your robots.txt, which stops us fetching your site at all.

How does billing work?

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and cancel at the end of the paid period. We do not offer refunds for partial months, but if the service was broken for you, write to us and we will make it right.

What happens if the service is unavailable?

Provided as-is with no uptime guarantee. Our liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous month.
